BOB SILVESTRI
President
In
his career, Mr.
Silvestri has created and managed a succession of startup ventures,
entrepreneurial businesses and nonprofit organizations, and been an
ardent supporter of environmental causes. As President of Tiburon Group,
Inc. and its related entities, he oversaw the its architecture and
affordable housing development services, real estate development
partnerships, financial underwriting and its analytical software
products. The company also acted as an investment advisor to
institutional clients and participated in a variety of ongoing
investment ventures.
Bob founded Blue Sky Productions, an independent film company, with writer/director David O'Malley, in 1983. Subsequently, he scripted and developed feature film projects for Paul Monash
/ Warner Brothers, Cannon - Golan Globus Productions, and Rastar / Sony
- Columbia Pictures. He was a Creative Director for Two Islands
Entertainment (1998-2007) and an advisor to Conspiracy Films since 1985. Conspiracy Films co-produced "Instinct", starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Anthony
Hopkins. As President and CEO of Environmental Media Fund, Bob has
advised on and helped develop hundreds of film projects, the
most significant of which are noted on the EMF web site.
Mr. Silvestri graduated the Cooper Union School of Architecture, receiving a Graham Foundation Traveling Fellowship in urban studies. Active in community affairs, he is an Emeritus Board member of Friends of Mill Valley, a activist organization working for better local government. Bob has sat on the Advisory Boards of Specialty Studios, the Marin Environmental Film Festival, the International Wildlife Film Center in Missoula, Montana, where he has been a guest speaker, and Filmmakers For Conservation, an international conservation organization for the film and television industry. In 2005, Bob founded The doGoodr Fund, a nonprofit Internet technology company matching charitable and philanthropic initiatives. In July of 2010 the
doGoodr Fund and doGoodr technology became projects of EMF.
MAURICE H. BENNETT
Secretary / Treasurer
Mr. Bennett holds a B.A. in Economics from Colorado State University and an MBA in Business from San Francisco University. He currently works as a real estate financial advisor and teaches Economics at Community College of Denver. Maurice also serves on the Board of Directors of The Partnership for Sustainability which offers no-interest loans for PV solar installations for qualifying residential and business customers.
Mr. Bennett has been active in community affairs and in helping low income families secure first-time buyer mortgages and financial assistance. He currently resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife and three children.
